The First National Legal Research Forum Held Successfully

The first national legal research forum was successfully held in Koguan Building on May 11th, 2014. This lecture is one of the series activities of the 110-year-anniversary for the founding of Peking University Law School. The managers of the colleges and research institutes, experts and academic journal editors participated in the forum.
The standard of academic evaluation is the theme of the forum. The theme in the morning is the substantive standard of academic evaluation,while the theme in the afternoon is the form standard of academic evaluation.
The meeting started at 9:00 in the morning. Professor Shen Kui hosted the opening ceremony. Professor Zhang Shouwen, dean of Peking University law school, warmly welcomed the arrival of the guests And introduced the background of the forum. Professor Wang Bo, minister of social sciences of Peking University, pointed out the importance of the rule of law and ethics in today's society, and wished the forum a complete success.
Professor Jiang Mingan hosted the first unit. Professor Zhu Suli made a statement about how to motivate jurisprudence research. Professor Zhong Weimin talked about the essence of the academic evaluation standard and some related problems. Then Professor Wang Shizhou, Professor Li Zhongxia, deputy dean of Shandong University Law School, Professor He Li from Fudan University, Professor Chen Weidong from University of International Business and Economics Law School took part in the free discussions.
Professor Zuo Haicong, dean of Nankai University Law School, hosted the second unit. Professor Liang Genlin and Doctor Zhang Zhimei made a speech. Professor Zhang Hong, deputy dean of the law school of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law,Professor Ye Jinqiang, deputy dean of Nanjing University Law School, Professor Ling Bin, Professor Hu Ming, deputy dean of Zhejiang University Guanghua School of Law and Professor Zhu Suli expressed their own opinion about the topic during the free discussions.
The theme in the afternoon is the form standard of academic evaluation. Professor Li Zan, dean of Sichuan University Law School, hosted the third unit. Professor Chen Ruihua, Researcher of The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Law Liu Zuoxiang, Professor Wang Xianlin, dean of Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School, and Professor Liu Jingwei, the scientific bureau director of China University of Politics and Law made a speech. Doctor Zhang Zhimei, Professor Han Qiang, Professor Liu Jingjing, Professor Li Lanying, Professor Yuan Zhijie and Professor Shi Jinghai took part in the free discussion.
Professor Kang Junxin, deputy dean of Wuhan University Law School, hosted the fourth unit. Professor Long Yifei, deputy dean of The Chinese People's University Law School, Professor Shen Weixing, deputy dean of Tsinghua University Law School, Professor Wu Yingzi, deputy dean of Nanjing University Law School, and Professor Ling Bin made a speech about their own ideals. Professor Li Jianming, Professor Yin Fei, Professor Bi Hongmei, Professor Zuo Haicong expressed their view in the free discussion.
After one-day forum, Professor Shen Kui read the "first national legal research forum consensus". Finally, Professor Pan Jianfeng spoke highly of the fruitful discussion and expressed gratitude to all the guests.
At 18:00, the first national legal research forum ended in a warm atmosphere.As the organizer, Peking University Law School would like to establish a bridge between the schools, institutes and the academic journal. We would like to promote the healthy development of legal research.
