Farewell Ceremony for the Class of 2025 and Development Symposium of the Peking University-University of Hong Kong Dual Bachelor of Laws Program Held Successfully

On the morning of June 23, 2025, the Farewell Ceremony for the Class of 2025 and Development Symposium of the Peking University-University of Hong Kong Dual Bachelor of Laws Program was held at Conference Room B102, Koguan Building, Peking University Law School.

The event was attended by Yu Xiangjun, Deputy Director-General of the Eighth Bureau of the Central Government’s Liaison Office for Hong Kong and Macao Affairs, and Cheng Song, Division Director of the same bureau; Huang Yulan, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Peking University; Zhou Jing, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs; Guo Li, Dean of Peking University Law School; Tang Jinnan, Party Secretary of the Law School; Vice Deans Che Hao, Liu Zhewei, and Dai Xin; Assistant Dean Zuo Yilu; and Xu Xiaoying, Director of the Academic Affairs Office. Representatives of graduating students and current students from both universities were also present. The meeting was chaired by Tang Jinnan.
Professor Zhao Yun, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, delivered remarks online, highly commending the achievements of the Class of 2025. He noted that the graduates had fully integrated the strengths of both institutions, demonstrated remarkable resilience, and were well positioned to become future leaders in the legal profession.


Student representatives from both universities shared reflections on their five-year academic journey. Leung Ka Ying, representing HKU students, highlighted how the program broadened students’ intellectual horizons and strengthened their comparative law thinking, bilingual competence, and cultural inclusiveness. Li Xinhang, representing PKU students, emphasized the value of learning to bridge differences between legal systems through understanding and communication.
In the concluding remarks, Dean Guo Li extended his sincere congratulations to the graduates and expressed appreciation to all departments and faculty members involved in the program’s development. Yu Xiangjun noted the pioneering significance of Peking University’s cross-border legal education initiatives, encouraging graduates to shoulder responsibilities in advancing national strategies, foreign-related legal development, and legal innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative certificates to graduate representatives.
