On the afternoon of April 15, 2026, A.P. Cao Zhixun of Peking University Law School led a group of international students from the LL.M. Program in Chinese Law, exchange students, and other students from the Law School on a visit to the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC). The visiting faculty member and students were received by Cheng Yiting, Senior Counsel, and Li Wenzhe, Counsel, of BAC’s Business Development Division (International Case Management Division).

Led by Li Wenzhe, the group first toured BAC’s premises, gaining firsthand experience of its first-class office and research facilities and its welcoming, party-oriented environment for dispute resolution.

Following the tour, Senior Counsel Cheng Yiting gave an engaging presentation. Beginning with a short quiz on arbitration institutions, she offered students a vivid overview of international commercial arbitration from an institutional perspective. She then introduced in detail BAC’s development, its diverse and inclusive institutional framework, its efficient case management, and the independence, credibility, and international standards it demonstrates in resolving cross-border commercial disputes. During the question-and-answer session, students actively raised questions on topics including how BAC establishes its independence and credibility, as well as career development paths for legal professionals working on international matters. Cheng Yiting provided insightful answers to their questions.

The students then gathered for a group photograph in BAC’s reception hall. Through this visit, international students in the LL.M. Program in Chinese Law and exchange students gained fresh insights into the history and current state of arbitration in China, as well as a deeper understanding of its flourishing development. Students described the visit as a highly meaningful and rewarding opportunity for on-site learning and exchange, and as an important, unforgettable experience during their studies in China.
