Peking University Law School and Erasmus School of Law Sign Memorandum of Understanding

On March 17, 2025, a delegation led by Prof. Harriët Natalie Schelhaas, Dean of Erasmus School of Law (ESL), Erasmus University Rotterdam, visited Peking University Law School (PKULS). They were warmly received by Dean Guo Li, Vice Dean Dai Xin, Assistant Dean Wang Huawei, and Assistant Dean and Director of the External Affairs Office Li Yuanyuan. The two sides held in-depth discussions on comprehensive collaboration and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).



Dean Guo expressed PKULS’s strong commitment to diversified cooperation with leading global law schools, highlighting achievements in student exchanges, faculty visits, and dual-degree programs. Dean Schelhaas affirmed this vision and shared insights on Chinese students at ESL. Prof. Li Yuwen, a PKULS alumnus currently teaching at ESL, noted the outstanding academic and professional performance of PKULS graduates.

During the meeting, Dean Guo and Vice Dean Dai introduced PKULS’s initiatives in faculty development and teaching innovation, noting that the shared educational philosophy lays a solid foundation for future cooperation. The teams further discussed concrete cooperation plans, including joint student training and degree program alignment. They also explored the feasibility of a recommendation programs for PKULS students to pursue master’s degrees at ESL.

The MoU marks a significant step toward establishing a regularized mechanism for collaboration in talent development and academic exchange, jointly advancing the internationalization of legal education.
