Dean Jason Nance of SMU Dedman School of Law and Delegation Visit Peking University Law School

On the morning of October 16, 2025, Jason Nance, Dean and Professor of Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law; Martin Camp, Assistant Dean and Professor; and Ji Hengka, Partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm and alumnus of SMU, visited Peking University Law School. They were received by Prof. Guo Li, Dean of Peking University Law School, and Prof. Dai Xin, Deputy Dean and Tenured A. P. of Peking University Law School.
Deputy Dean Dai Xin extended a warm welcome to Dean Nance and the delegation, stating that PKU Law School is committed to providing students with more teaching and research resources and support, and promoting faculty and student exchanges. Dean Nance shared the excellent results of SMU Dedman School of Law in terms of bar exam and career qualification exam pass rates, and highlighted the diverse internship opportunities provided to students.

Subsequently, Assistant Dean Camp conducted a recruitment presentation for the LL.M. program. He mentioned that SMU is a well-known law school in Texas, with particular teaching strengths in fields such as commercial law and intellectual property law. The school atmosphere is friendly, with close community connections between faculty and students, and the school pays attention to the student experience. He also introduced the school's scholarship programs and practical training courses, noting that the school provides students with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience in renowned enterprises. Lawyer Ji Hengka shared his study experience with the students, emphasizing that a study abroad background can enrich knowledge and broaden horizons, giving students stronger competitiveness in the job market.
After the presentation, attending students raised questions regarding SMU's course structure, preparation of application materials, and balancing study abroad with career plans. Dean Nance and Assistant Dean Camp patiently answered each question.
