Robert Daines, Deputy Dean of Stanford Law School, and his delegation visited Peking University Law School

On the morning of September 7, 2018, Prof. Robert Daines, Deputy Dean of the Stanford Law School, and Julia Erwin-Weiner, Deputy Dean of the Stanford Law School, visited Peking University. Prof. Guo Li, Deputy Dean of Peking University Law School, Prof. Zhang Ping, Prof. Guo Yu, and Li Yuanyuan, Assistant Dean and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office met with visiting staff at the Stanford Center of Peking University.

On behalf of Peking University Law School, Deputy Dean Guo Li expressed sincere greetings and welcome to the visiting guests and reviewed the cooperation process between Peking University Law School and Stanford University. As early as 2009, Peking University Law School has signed a cooperation agreement with Stanford Law School to explore and begin substantive and in-depth cooperation. Over the years, the two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation including student exchange, Peking University-Stanford-Oxford Internet Law and Public Policy Seminar, and teacher academic exchanges. Among them, the Peking University-Oxford-Stanford Internet Law and Public Policy Seminar held regularly every year has become a famous event in the field of Internet law research in the world.

Deputy Dean Guo Li also introduced the progress of internationalization cooperation of Peking University Law School. Peking University Law School is committed to building a first-class law school, cultivating international legal talents, improving the internationalization level of the teaching staff, and building a high-level international academic research and exchange platform to lead and promote the development of global legal education and the rule of law. It has established cooperative relations with 110 world-famous law schools. Peking University Law School attaches great importance to cooperation with Stanford Law School. In the future, the two sides will conduct closer and substantive exchanges and cooperation in teacher exchanges and joint research.

Deputy Dean Robert Daines was very pleased to meet with Deputy Dean Guo Li and other colleagues at Peking University Law School. He said that the cooperation between Stanford Law School and Peking University Law School is gratifying. He hoped to continue to promote close cooperation between the two sides, promote more and better cooperation projects, and help the international faculty and talents of both sides Global law education in the future. Next spring, Stanford University students will visit Peking University Law School for short-term visits, which will promote in-depth exchanges between students.

Subsequently, the two sides discussed the details of the cooperation, and the two sides looked forward to working together for the globalization of law education.
