The Annual General Meeting of Peking University Law School Hong Kong Alumni Association was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of July 14, 2018, the 2018 Annual General Meeting of Peking University Law School Hong Kong Alumni Association (Peking University Legal Person Hong Kong Club) was held at the City University of Hong Kong. Mr. Li Ning, President of Peking University Law School Hong Kong Alumni Association, Vice President Ma Yaotian, Mr. Chen Hongling, Mr. Shi Tianci, Bi Wentai, and nearly 100 alumni members from Hong Kong and the Mainland attended the conference. The conference was presided over by the vice president and secretary general Huang Shanduan.

 

 

After the meeting, President Li Ning gave a speech. He pointed out that the development of the Hong Kong Alumni Association of Law School depended on everyone's support. He encouraged alumni to actively participate in the various activities of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and hoped that the management structure of the Alumni Association would be further improved, expand the size of the Secretariat and create more opportunities for mutual aid development for alumni in Hong Kong.

Subsequently, Secretary General Huang Shanduan made a detailed report. The report described the basic situation and main activities of the Hong Kong Alumni Association since its inception last year. The report also pointed out some problems and difficulties encountered by the Hong Kong Alumni Association. On the basis of summarizing the activities and difficulties of the past year or more, the report put forward the prospects for the future work of the Hong Kong Alumni Association, including the regular events such as Happy Hours, and the Peking University Hong Kong Alumni Association and Peking University Law School Alumni. The other clubs would cooperate and exchange, and cooperated with local friends to organize exchange activities between the two places to help Hong Kong alumni to understand the development of the mainland in a deeper way. The work report was approved by the majority of the members.

 

 

Afterwards, President Li Ning presented the “Excellent Volunteer” certificate on behalf of the Hong Kong Alumni Association to Wang Fangqin alumni who had been actively assisting the alumni association in organizing the work since the founding of the Association.

 

 

Before the end of the meeting, Vice President Sun Jiahong, who is attending the 30th anniversary of enrollment in Yanyuan, sent surprises to members and alumni. From Beijing Online, she brought the blessing of Professor Pan Jianfeng, the dean of the School of Law. Mr. Pan hoped that the law school Hong Kong alumni unite and help each other and seek common development. He wished the Law School Hong Kong Alumni Association to be better and better, and welcomed guests to have time to return to their alma mater.

Immediately after the annual general meeting, a series of lectures on cross-border legal services was held. Vice-President Bi Wentai and Secretary-General Huang Shanduan respectively identified the "Trust Law - Family Wealth Inheritance, Cross-Border Asset Allocation" and "Critical Judgment in Hong Kong" With the implementation of the topic, shared with their alumni their research results on their respective topics. Before the lecture, Associate Professor Ding Chunyan, a law school alumnus and assistant dean of the School of Law of the City University of Hong Kong, delivered a speech on behalf of the City University Law School, encouraging alumni to interact with the City University Law School to promote exchanges between various fields of law in Hong Kong.

 

 

Peking University Law School Hong Kong Alumni Association was established in 2017. Through the joint efforts of law school alumni, it has become a common home for law school alumni in Hong Kong. The convening of this annual general meeting also represents a new stage in the development of the Hong Kong Alumni Association into the construction layout. Taking the common "Yanyuan Love" as the link, with the concept of professionalism and sharing, the Hong Kong Alumni Association will continue to play a connecting role and make efforts to realize the common development of alumni and alma mater.
