Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Dean of the School of Law of Taipei University Visited Peking University Law School and Signed a Cooperation Agreement

On the morning of May 25, 2018, Chen Chunsheng, Academic Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Law of Taipei University, Du Yijing, Director of the Faculty of Law, Wang Zhenyu, Director of the Center for International Law Studies, and Xu Huiyi, Professor of the Faculty of Law visited Peking University School of Law. Professor Zhang Shouwen, Dean of Peking University Law School, Prof. Song Ying and Associate Professor Chen Yifeng, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Li Yuanyuan warmly received those guests in the Courtyard. Both two parties had a friendly talk and then signed a agreement of student-exchange-cooperation project. 

 

 

President Zhang Shouwen firstly introduced the basic situation such as students, faculty, education and research of Peking University Law School. He also stated that the cooperation with Taipei University will further expand the relationship between Peking University Law School and universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. President Chen Chunsheng introduced that Taipei University is ranked top three in Taiwan in terms of humanities and social sciences. The Law School of Taipei University was reorganized in 2000. It has a Department of Law, a Department of Judicial Studies, a Department of Economics and Law, and a Comparative Law Information Center. The College emphasizes the combination of traditional legal basic theories and financial law, judicial practice, and legal training to develop the legal professionals. Taipei University highly hopes and rejoices that it will be able to carry out academic exchanges and cooperation with Peking University Law School with rich and diverse perspectives, so as to raise the level of education.

Subsequently, the two parties signed an agreement on the cooperation and exchange project. It is clear that substantial cooperation will be held in holding academic exchange seminars, academic lectures, mutual visits by scholars and professors, and student exchanges. After the signing of the contract, President Chen Chunsheng and President Zhang Shouwen expressed that they will implement the contents of the cooperation agreement as soon as possible and promote the smooth development of the cooperation and exchange activities between two sides.
