Prof. John Linarelli from Law School of Durham University Visited PKULS

On the morning of Oct. 10th, 2017, Prof. John Linarelli from Durham University Law School visited PKULS, Deputy Dean Wang Xixin and Yao Yueming from External Affairs Office received him warmly.
Firstly, Wang expressed a warm welcome to Prof. John Linarelli's visit, and introduced PKULS's history and foreign cooperation and exchange to him. As the oldest law school in China's modern legal education, PKULS has been actively seeking international cooperation, and established cooperative relations with 92 well-known law schools. Every year, PKULS will receive nearly 50 international exchange students, who can choose distinctive "Chinese law" LL.M. program class teaching in English or class teaching in Chinese.
Prof. John Linarelli expressed gratitude Wang's warm reception, and introduced that Durham University Law School is among UK's top law schools, currently setting nine research institutions of law with unique advantages in commercial law and company law, as well as outstanding research achievement in international law. He said that students from Durham University Law School have a strong interest in Chinese legal culture and especially hope to study Chinese legal system and culture at Peking University.
Prof. John Linarelli hoped that this visit could be an opportunity to expand cooperation between these two law schools, to explore cooperation opportunities in student exchange, degree program, teacher exchange visit and other aspects, and to establish long-term cooperative relationship with PKULS.
Wang quite agreed with that, and pointed out that exchange and cooperation between both sides isbeneficial to strengthen the contact between the UK law school and PKULS, and it is also a good beginning of a win-win relationship, Wang hoped a further discussion on details in the future communication.
