At 8:20 on 24^th October, the opening ceremony of the First Intellectual Property Law Seminar of Peking University was held in PKULS. Dean Zhang Shouwen, Vice Dean Yang Xiaolei, Director of office Nian Yijia attended the ceremony. Top executives, filmmakers, lawyers and corporate lawyers from a number of radio and television stations, cultural media companies and Internet companies attended the seminar. The ceremony was presided over by Pro. Zhang Ping, Vice Dean of the School of Intellectual  Property.

This seminar is the first high-end training program in the field of media and entertainment industry, specializing in intellectual property entertainment law, aiming to foster excellent international vision and leadership in the field of media and entertainment and master relevant industrial policies and laws, and raise the ability to handle international legal affairs.

Zhang Shouwen, Dean of Peking University Law School, said in his speech that the current media and entertainment industry in China is facing an important development opportunity. At the same time, the Government increases investment in cultural development, and promotes media and entertainment industry to become a new economic growth point. With the development of international exchanges and cooperation in the field of film and television entertainment, cross-border legal disputes has increased, therefore legal workers in the field of media and entertainment should rapidly expand their horizons, enhance their legal practical ability and theoretical accomplishment. He pointed out that PKULS has always been committed to the cultivation of high-end legal talents and leaders of management talentthrough the course content innovation and curriculum system development, and PKULS will further improve the pertinence and effectiveness of personnel training, and strive to enhance the level of personnel training. He hoped that the participants could discuss the entertainment law from different perspectives and promote the development of the theory and practice of entertainment law. Finally, he wished the seminar a complete success.

Wang Zhangwei, a representative of the trainees, spoke at the ceremony. He said hewas honored to return to Peking University campus, and hoped that the participants in the field of entertainment law work together to promote the development of entertainment law.

During the five-day training period, participants of the Entertainment Law Seminar will learn about “the protection and utilization of intellectual property in the entertainment industry”, “the latest development of the copyright law in the United States”, “the system of collective management of copyright”, "the main legal issues of China's film and television entertainment industry" and other courses, and will go to the famous film school, visit famous media and entertainment company.In addition, famous teachers are invited to , including Zhang Ping, Yi Jiming, Sun Yuanzhao, Tao Xinliang, Yang Ming and Pro. Zhao Yuzhong from Beijing Film Academy, Zhang Xiaoxia from Beijing Intellectual Property Court and other lawyers from different law offices.

PKU Intellectual Property Law Seminar will make a contribution to the establishment and improvement of the rule of law system, through focusing on the emerging field of media and entertainment industry and gathering high-level talents in the entertainment law industry, and taking intellectual property law and civil and commercial law as the foundation and industry development realities as the core.
