Peking University Law School-Legal Department Mainland Commercial Law Seminar Held Successfully

From April 14th to 19th, Peking University Law School and Legal Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong jointly organized the Mainland Commercial Law Seminar. More than 40 legal practitioners in Hong Kong attended the seminar. This seminar is held in order to further implement the important strategic deployment of "Thirteen-Five plan" on Hong Kong's economic development, and deepen the communication between the mainland and Hong Kong commercial law practitioners.
This seminar invited famous scholars and experts, including Suli, professorfrom Peking University Law School, Xue Jun, professor from Peking University Law School, Wang yiming, deputy director of the State Council's Development Research Center, Du jun, judge of the Supreme People's Court, Gao Xiaoli,judge of the Supreme People's Court and economist ZhangYan. The seminar also included lectures on Chinese culture and management. In addition, the seminar organized students to visit Beijing Tiantong Law Firm, and Jiang Yong and Zhu Huafang lawyers communicated with students.
On the morning of April 19, the seminar completed all of the curriculumsuccessfully, and held graduation ceremonyin the first floor hall in Koguan Building. Wang Zhenmin, Minister of Legal Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong, Xi Junjian, deputy director of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Pan Jianfeng, vice president of the Peking University Law School and all students attended the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Nian Yijia, director of the administrative office of Law School.
First of all, Nian Yijia, director of the administrative office of Law School, briefly reviewed and summarized the seminar, and Bi Wentai representing students delivered a graduation speech.
Secondly, Xi Junjian, deputy director of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, made the keynote speech. He pointed out that the development of Hong Kong and the mainland is closely related.
Next, Wang Zhenmin,Minister of Legal Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong, made a speech. He hope that through this training, we can fully understand the national legal system, promote exchanges and cooperation between the two places.
Next, Pan Jianfeng, vice president of the Peking University Law School, gave a talk. He congratulated all the students on their successful completion.He pointed out that this seminar made the students have a deeper understanding of mainland law, policy, culture, hoping the seminar help students to carry out the work in the future.
Finally, Pan Jianfeng, vice president of the Peking University Law School,Wang Zhenmin, Minister of Legal Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong and Xi Junjian, deputy director of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office jointly certificated of completion and took photos.
The seminar provided a high level of communication platform for Hong Kong law practitioners to understand the mainland commercial legal system and economic development policy, and contributed to the cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong. Peking University Law School and Legal Department of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong have reached a long-term cooperation intention. The second and the third Seminar will be carried out in the next two months.
