Peking University Team Won the Eighth at the 57th Session of Philip C.Jessup Law Competition

From March 27 to April 2, 2016, the 57th “Philip C.Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition" concluded at Washington. After fierce competition in China's domestic tournament defending champion, Peking University Team was the only team to qualify this year in East Asia 32 knockout team, and recorded complete 4 victoriesand the eighth highest in theround robin in the world, setting a 15-year national team to the best record in this game. Meanwhile, one member from 2012 undergraduateZhang Wanyu won the "World Top 100 Oralists" title, which ranked 38th.
Launched in 1960,Philip C.Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is sponsored by the United States Student Association of International Law Moot professional law, which aimed at nurturing talent and promoting international academic exchanges。Philip C.Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the world's largest, the oldest of the moot court competition, which is honored as the law School students Olympiad.
This team from the Law School of Peking University was guided by teacher Yi Ping and teacher QiaoYifu. The team's success was not only due to Peking University Law School first-class teaching and research strength, but also resulted from teaching and learning practice and tradition of activeparticipationin international competitions. This team also received the support from International Law Promotion Center (CIIL) and Fonda law firm.
