PKU Law School Visiting Professor key adviser in Colombian peace process

The peace process between the FARC and the government of Colombia has gained momentum and was recently referred to by the Economist as “an example to the world”. The process could bring to an end a civil war which has lasted since 1964. A Visiting Professor at PKU Law School, Morten Bergsmo, has played a central role in advising the parties in the Colombian peace process on questions of international criminal law and transitional justice. He is a member of the ‘New York Group’ of experts who advice on legal and policy questions in the peace process. Professor Bergsmo has taught international criminal law at PKU Law School since 2012.
