On May 29, 2024, Christopher Campbell-Holt, CEO of the Astana International Financial Center Court and International Arbitration Center (AIFC Court and IAC), and his delegation visited Peking University Law School. They were warmly received by Deputy Deans Dai Xin and Liu Zhewei, Tenured Associate Professor Zhang Zhiyong, and Director of External Affairs and Dean's Assistant Li Yuanyuan.
Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt introduced the business situation of AIFC and expressed his desire to establish a cooperative relationship with Peking University Law School. He stated that AIFC is a rapidly developing financial institution in Central Asia in recent years, playing an active role in attracting investment and promoting transactions, and also providing fertile ground for the growth of foreign-related legal talents. Peking University Law School is a top law school in China, which has been committed to cultivating legal talents needed by the world for many years. AIFC is willing to provide training and internship opportunities for Peking University students.
Deputy Dean Dai Xin welcomed the visit of Christopher Campbell-Holt and his delegation and congratulated the establishment and smooth development of AIFC. He said that in the process of globalization and promoting the "Belt and Road" initiative, the cultivation and development of international legal talents play a key role. Peking University Law School has established several international talent training programs, including an international arbitration project. In the future, if students from Peking University Law School have the opportunity to participate in short-term training and internships at AIFC, it will enrich the students' overseas vision and accumulate relevant practical experience.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in talent cultivation, academic research, and other fields, and looked forward to strengthening exchanges and promoting in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
