On the afternoon of May 18th, the scholarship ceremony of 2022 AnJie Broad "Star of Academic Potential" was successfully held in Conference Room 303, Kaiyuan Building, School of Law. Mr. Liu Hongchuan, Managing Partner of Beijing AnJie Broad Law Firm and alumnus of Peking University Law School in 1985, Mr. Ding Zhenyu, Managing Partner of Beijing AnJie Broad Law Firm, Mrs. Chen Huan and Mr. Xie Yongtao, Partners of Beijing AnJie Broad Law Firm, Mr. Shi Shi, Assistant Dean, Secretary of Youth League Committee and Director of Office of Student Work of Peking University Law School, and the representatives of the six award-winners from Peking University and Tsinghua University as well as the previous award-winners attended the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Shi Shi, the assistant dean of Peking University Law School, secretary of the Youth League Committee, director of the Student Work Office, and six award-winning students from Peking University and Tsinghua University as well as representatives of previous award-winning students. The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Li Chaofu, Deputy Director of the Student Work Office of the Law School.

On behalf of Peking University Law School, Mr. Shi Shi firstly expressed his heartfelt thanks to Beijing AnJie Broad Law Firm and warmly welcomed the guests of the awarding party. He recalled the tradition of cooperation between Peking University Law School and AnJie Broad Law Firm, introduced the achievements of the college in recent years, and hoped that the two sides will continue to deepen the cooperation, and work together on the exchange and interaction of law teaching, research and practice, and contribute to the cultivation of rule of law talents hand in hand.

Mr. Liu Hongchuan said in his speech that every time he returns to his alma mater, it is a baptism of the soul and spiritual nourishment, and it is the original intention of AnJie Broad to set up the "Star of Academic Potential" Scholarship to carry on the cause of educating people. He hoped to have more communication and exchanges with current students, guide more outstanding students to maintain their enthusiasm and interest in academics, pay attention to cutting-edge practical issues, and take the winners as examples to inspire and attract more young lawyers to do well in legal theoretical research and practical work.

Mr. Ding Zhenyu introduced the development of AnJie Broad "Star of Academic Potential" Scholarship over the years, which has been recognized by many law schools due to its strict selection criteria and scientific evaluation system. He shared the importance of strengthening academic accumulation and exercising thinking during the school years with his work experience, and hoped that the awardees could continue to improve their ability to think and study complex legal issues in the great changes that have not been seen in the past hundred years.

Attorney Chen Huan shared her thoughts on academic research and practical work, emphasizing the importance of basic academic training during school.

Mr. Xie Yongtao recalled his academic career, emphasized the importance of academic accumulation in the field of dispute resolution and commercial arbitration practice work, and fully affirmed the strengths and potentials of the awardees.

Representatives of the award-winning students and former award-winning students delivered their speeches and shared their thoughts on academic research, career choices and life planning. Guests of honor from the awarding party had an in-depth communication with the students and put forward their earnest hope.

The "Star of Academic Potential" Scholarship was established by AnJie Broad Law Firm in some higher education institutions of law in Beijing and Shanghai, aiming at rewarding outstanding students of law schools who have solid professional foundation and strong academic interests.
