On the afternoon of December 2, 2022, the 20th "Trade Arbitration Cup" International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Debate Competition came to an end. After intense competition, the Peking University team, composed of law school teachers and students, stood out from 93 participating teams and won the championship for the third time in nearly four years. Meanwhile, Yan Shiwei, a 2019 undergraduate student at the Law School, won the title of "Best Debater" in the semi-finals, Su Kunpeng, a 2021 Master of Law, won the title of "Best Debater" in the quarter finals, Wang Xiuqi, a 2022 Master of Law, and Lin Yongxi, a 2019 undergraduate student, won the title of "Best Debater" in the round robin.

The team participating in this competition is guided by Associate Professor Gao Wei from the Law School, and led by Yan Shiwei, a 2019 undergraduate student. The team members include Su Kunpeng, Zhong Kuangqi, Huang Tian, Sun Jiahe, and Tu Xin, a 2021 Master of Law, Wang Xiuqi, a 2022 Master of Law, and Lin Yongxi and He Yingjun, a 2019 undergraduate student. After the competition questions were announced, the team members efficiently completed legal searches, written pleadings, and court defense preparations. In the five day competition, the team members played steadily and smoothly entered the knockout stage, playing against the representative teams of Nanjing University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and Sichuan University before reaching the final. In the final, the Peking University team faced the Renmin University of China team, and our team remained calm and agile, ultimately winning the championship of this year's China International Trade Fair Cup. The achievement of outstanding results is closely related to the strong support of Peking University Law School for international simulated arbitration competitions, the careful guidance of guidance teachers, and the help of previous team members. It is a full recognition of the hard work and high-level performance of all participating team members, and also another successful demonstration of Peking University Law School's active promotion of foreign-related rule of law talent cultivation, the combination of theoretical and practical teaching. The team activities of this year have received strong support from the Dao An Law Foundation of Peking University.

The "Trade Arbitration Cup" is organized and held by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. It is both the domestic selection competition for the Willem C. Vis Moot International Commercial Arbitration Moot Debate Competition ("Vis Moot") and the world's first pre competition recognized by Vis Moot. It uses the same case and arbitration rules as Vis Moot, and the competition language is English.
