On June 10, 2022, at the invitation of Peking University Law School, Prof. Zhang Yongjian, Research Fellow of Academia Sinica in Taiwan, Director of the Centre for Empirical Studies of Law and Juris Doctor of New York University, successfully gave a lecture on "Property Law — Comparative Law, Empirical Research and Economic Analysis" as Peking University Law School’s "Global & Comparative Law" series program. The lecture was chaired by A.P. Chen Ruoying of Peking University Law School, and Profs. Chang Pengao and Dai Xin of Peking University Law School, Prof. Chen Jianlin of the University of Melbourne Law School, Prof. Hou Meng and A.P. Xiong Bingwan, Prof. Zhu Hu of Renmin University of China Law School served as the adjudicators. The lecture was broadcast live through "Peking University Magic Weapon Platform", and more than 3700 people watched the lecture and the response was enthusiastic.

 

 

Introduction of the Speaker:
Prof. Zhang Yongjian is Research Fellow of Academia Sinica in Taiwan, Director of the Centre for Empirical Studies of Law, and Juris Doctor of New York University. He will hold the Clarke Chair in Jurisprudence at Cornell Law School from January 2023. Prof. Zhang has held visiting and visiting appointments at New York University, the University of Chicago, the University of Rotterdam, the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and the University of Haifa, Israel, as well as short-term research fellowships at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, Tokyo University, Japan, and the University of Paris II. He is currently co-Editor-in-Chief of the SSCI journal International Review of Law and Economics, Consulting Editor of the SSCI journal European Journal of Law and Economics, and an International Advisory Member of the ALI Restatement of the Law Fourth, Property.
