On the evening of May 16, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore announced that the new Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, Ms. Sun Haiyan, arrived in Singapore.

Ms. Sun Haiyan graduated from Peking University Law School. She received a master's degree in law from Peking University in 1997 and a doctor's degree in law from Peking University in 2008. She used to be the Director of the First Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the CPC Central Committee, the Director of the Information and Communication Bureau, the Deputy Director of the Research Office, and the Director of the Center for Contemporary World Studies.

Ambassador Sun Haiyan said that She was very happy to come to the beautiful Lion City Singapore and serve as the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore. China and Singapore are friendly neighbors across the sea. The two sides have continuously deepened strategic mutual trust, expanded practical cooperation and closely integrated development interests, which have not only benefited the two peoples, but also the region and the world. We will make every effort to push China Singapore relations forward and make greater contributions to regional prosperity and development and world peace and stability.

Ambassador Sun Haiyan said that as the new ambassador to Singapore, she looked forward to working with friends from all walks of life to carry forward the past and open up the future, to be honest and innovative, and to make progress together.
