The International Academic Conference on the securities market of the company was successfully held
Date:2021-11-15
From November 9 to 10, 2021, the fifth academic conference "Germany - East Asian companies and capital market law" was successfully held online. The theme of this meeting is "practical challenges faced by company law and capital market law", which lasts for two days and consists of four links. Nearly 60 scholars of company law and securities law from China, Germany, Japan and South Korea overcame the obstacles such as time difference and attended the meeting with full enthusiasm. The online discussion was in-depth, warm, relaxed and friendly.
Professor Guo Li, Party Secretary and Vice Dean of the law school, CO organized the meeting as the Chinese contact person. Professor Lou Jianbo, Associate Professor Chen Ruoying and postdoctoral Dr. Li Huxing were invited to make special speeches at the meeting, sharing the judicial practice of China's corporate opportunity principle and the positive shareholder measures of the CSI small and medium-sized Investor Service Center, which aroused warm repercussions. Scholars from ancient Chinese literature search also discussed the leading legal issues in the stock market during the period of COVID-19, such as the legal responsibilities and related supervision of China's securities intermediaries, the dispute over the resolution of the shareholders' meeting and the general meeting of shareholders in Germany and Japan, and the restrictions and temporary prohibitions imposed by the securities regulatory authorities in Germany and Korea on the short selling of the epidemic, and the practices of South Korea in corporate social responsibility. Japan's latest regulatory progress on shareholders' voting advisory institutions of listed companies under the framework of the code for due diligence management of institutional investors.
The series of conferences were held by four countries in turn. The school of law of Peking University successfully hosted the conference in Beijing in 2018. The online conference was hosted by the Law School of Frankfurt University, Germany. The participants included Professor Klaus Hopt, a leading figure in corporate law and securities law in Europe and North America, Professor Holger Fleischer, director of the center for comparative and private international law of Mapuche Institute in Germany, Professor Hideki Kanda (Gakushuin University), Professor Youjing Fujita and Professor Goto won (The University of Tokyo), an authority of corporate law in South Korea, Professor Kon Sik Kim (Seoul National University), and others. Professor Tang Xin, an expert in securities law at Tsinghua University, was also invited to speak.
The epidemic has repeatedly postponed the meeting originally scheduled to be held in Frankfurt, Germany in 2020. However, the profound friendship, academic enthusiasm, exploration spirit and international care established by the four countries' corporate securities law experts in previous seminars and exchanges since 2013 have become a powerful driving force for everyone to work together and face difficulties. This is also a demonstration of Peking University Law School's efforts to accelerate the construction of a legal system with Chinese characteristics and actively promote the construction of foreign-related rule of law in the new era.
