From July 29 to August 4, 2021, the "Peking University Law School - Guizhou China Tobacco Legal Training Course" was successfully held in Peking University Law School.

On the morning of July 29, the course-opening ceremony was held in B103, Koguan Building of the Law School. Yang Xiaolei, Vice Dean of Peking University Law School; Lu Yonghua, Deputy Director of the Department of Laws and Regulations of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration; Wang Yimin, Director of the Regulation and Judicial Division; and Huang Zheng, Minister of the Company Law Reform Department of Guizhou China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Du Xuejiao, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office of Peking University Law School.

At the course-opening ceremony, Vice Dean Yang Xiaolei, on behalf of Peking University Law School, warmly welcomed all the students to the two-week training, and highly praised all of them for their efforts in coordinating their time to study and their enthusiasm for study. Vice Dean Yang Xiaolei pointed out that the reform of state-owned enterprises and private enterprises is of great significance to the rule of law in China. You need to improve your sensitivity and professionalism. You are looking forward to asking questions and learning in the process of study, and I wish you every success in your study at Peking University.

Subsequently, Lu Yonghua, Deputy Director of the Department of Laws and Regulations of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, delivered a speech. He said that this year is the beginning of the second centenary goal of the CPC. The bugle has been sounded for the country to carry out the rule of law construction in an all-round way. At this historical juncture, we need to believe in the rule of law, combine the local characteristics, the red gene of Guizhou and the characteristics of the tobacco industry as a whole, carry out targeted and effective reform. He expressed his ardent hope that you will respect knowledge, respect the law, respect Peking University, respect Peking University Law School for the beautiful learning atmosphere and profound cultural heritage, and hope that you will pay equal attention to epidemic prevention and study, and return with a full harvest.

Subsequently, Huang Zheng, Minister of Company Law Reform Department of Guizhou China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd., carried out class mobilization. He pointed out that, in response to new challenges under the new situation, the optimization of corporate governance and the compliance of enterprises with the law are fundamental to the comprehensive law-based governance of the country; therefore, we should promote the spirit of the rule of law throughout enterprise operation, conduct in-depth cultural publicity and education, and enhance employees' awareness of compliance with the law. To promote the in-depth implementation of the Eighth Five-year Plan period legal dissemination work, this training sets higher requirements on you, so we shall fully integrate ourselves into the study and disciplines of Peking University. We hope that the students will study carefully and bring their knowledge and awareness of the rule of law back to the course of enterprise operation. At the end of the ceremony, Du Xuejiao, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office, wished all the students a successful completion of the course and a transformation from excellence to excellence.

On the morning of August 4, the training course also carried out a live teaching activity on "Learning the Spirit of the May 4th Movement". Beijing University is the center of the New Culture Movement and an important base for the dissemination of Marxism in China. The current Guizhou China Tobacco Legal Training Course includes a total of more than 10 courses taught by more than 10 professors including Xue Jun, Jiang Daxing, Ye Shan, Ma Yinan and Yin Tian of Peking University Law School, and Wang Yimin and other experts in related fields are invited to give lectures. We shall use the thinking of the rule of law to truly promote the future construction of the tobacco industry, consciously put the norms of the rule of law into practice and strive for more learning results. Internalize in the heart and externalize in the actions.

Peking University Law School is the vanguard of modern legal education in China. This new cooperation with the tobacco industry has further enhanced the legal quality and professional ability of the legal personnel in the tobacco industry. The Peking University Law School has also, in light of the actual situation, integrated the knowledge theory with business practice, to put what has been learned into practice, and fully carried out the Eighth Five-year Plan for the dissemination of legal knowledge.
