On 22 June 2021, the Dentons Scholarship Award Ceremony of the Peking University Financial Law Center was held in Koguan Building, Peking University. Professor Guo Li, Party Secretary of Peking University Law School; Professor Hong Yanrong and Professor Peng Bing, Peking University Financial Law Research Center; Mr. Du Qingchun, Ms. Liu Linsen, Mr. Wang Yi and Mr. Li Shoushuang, Senior Partner of Dentons Beijing office attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

 

 

Professor Guo Li, Party Secretary of Peking University Law School, said that the establishment of the Dentons Scholarship of the Center for the Peking University Financial Law Center is conducive to the effective combination of educational and social resources, which meets the requirement of "cultivating talents for the Party and the country" in the new era.

 

 

Professor Peng Bing, Director of the Center for the Peking University Financial Law Center, said in his speech that the Center for the Peking University Financial Law Center was established in 1993 and specializes in financial law research. The Center has always encouraged students to pursue research and writing in the field of financial law, and fostered a positive atmosphere for academic discussion and exchange. The scholarship, established in cooperation with Dentons Beijing office, can better stimulate students to pursue academic research. The top ten articles read by the Center's public account are selected as encouragement. Hopefully, this partnership will continue and encourage students to create more excellent works in the future.

 

 

Mr. Du Qingchun, Senior Partner of Beijing Law Offices, said in his speech that PKU Center for Financial Law is a brand that Peking University has built up over the past 20 years. The purpose of the scholarship is to use the law firm's funds for more meaningful education, to make a contribution to the community and to give back.

 

 

Ms. Liu Linsen, Senior Partner of Beijing Dentons Beijing office, said that Peking University students are a great help to the improvement of the law firm team. As a lawyer, you can face the challenges of the client, the court and other areas, and get a more meaningful career.

 

 

Mr. Wang Yi, Senior Partner of Dentons Beijing office, shared his experience of career choice and career development, providing students with more ways to think about career choice.

 

 

Mr. Li Shoushuang, Senior Partner of Dentons Beijing office, shared his experience of writing articles when he was a student. He said that using the resources within his power to guide and motivate young people with academic interests is also a way to realize one's own value in life. He hoped that he could continue to provide more meaningful assistance to the Peking University Financial Law Center in the future.

 

 

Professor Hong Yanrong of Peking University Law School said that the inclusion of the Center's articles in the Journal of Financial Law has also been a tradition for nearly 20 years, providing a better platform for students' academic development.

 

 

Zou Xingguang, a doctoral student majoring in financial law, Class of 2020, spoke on behalf of the winners. He said that good financial law research should be persuasive and influential on market and regulatory practice, not self-admiring. The premise is that it is known by more people first. If the number of readers goes up, it means that it has a wide range of influence, so that research can interact well with practice.
