Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the results of the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses. The Civil Law Case Study and Criminal Law Case Study courses of Peking University Law School were both recognized as national first-class undergraduate courses.

For a long time, Peking University Law School has attached great importance to undergraduate education, and also has adhered to the fundamental goal of ‘educating people for the Party and the country’, focusing on the training of outstanding legal talents, combining social needs and talent training rules, and implementing a series of fruitful innovations and reforms, and has initiatively established a new curriculum system that combines basic courses, special courses, practical courses and English courses. The various courses range from mastering basic knowledge of law to exercising legal thinking logic. After long-term innovative practice and accumulation, Peking University Law School has gradually practiced the standardization of basic courses, the systemization of special courses, the diversification of practical courses, and the normalization of foreign language courses. Branded undergraduate courses including Civil Law Case Study and Criminal Law Case Study have been formed, which are well-known inside and outside the school, and received great attention from teachers and students in school and from all walks of life.

As the first courses of Peking University Law School among domestic colleges and universities, the series of case study courses comprehensively implement the teaching methods of ‘small class teaching’ and ‘flipped classroom’, aiming to effectively strengthen students' legal skills training and improve students' application of legal theory and legal knowledge. The actual combat ability of actual cases responds to the actual needs of the practical departments for students' practical ability, and becomes a ‘training ground’ for traditional theoretical courses, realizing the perfect combination of theory and practice.
