Peking University Law School Held 2020-2021 Fall Semester Class and League Branch Work Meeting

Peking University Law School 2020-2021 fall semester class and League branch work conferences of undergraduate and graduate students were held in Room B103, Koguan Building on the evenings of October 29 and 30, respectively. Assistant Dean of Law School, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Shi Shi, and Deputy Directors of the Student Affairs Office, Zhang Jianing and Zhang Runzhi, Director of Career Development Office, Fu Chengyu, Deputy Director of Career Development Office, Shi Moran, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Li Wanyu, and Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Li Chaofu, attended the meeting. All members of the backbone of the classes and League branches of the Law School attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Li Wanyu.
Two Classes Law School recommended to participate this year’s selection of the school-level "Model Class" shared different themes. Monitors of Class 2, 2019 Undergraduate, Lou Jialu and Liu Jiawen introduced the achievements of the class in the past year based on "unity, ideological and political leadership, online class construction, and voluntary social work". Xu Mengyao, the monitor of Class 4, 2019 Master of Jurisprudence (for students without an LLB degree), summarized and shared the experience of conducting class activities in the past academic year from the three aspects of "mission inheritance, warm companionship, and unity". The well-prepared presentations and reports of the two classes fully reflect the highlights of the class and League branch construction of Law School.
Zhang Jianing, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Office of Law School, made arrangements for class activities, epidemic prevention and control, infectious disease prevention in winter and so on, expressing the hope that class leaders will take positive actions to enhance class cohesion through the organization and development of colorful collective activities, and improve the happiness of students, as well as create a united class atmosphere.
Zhang Runzhi, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Office, summarized and arranged recent work of student funding and student mental healthcare, introduced the current distribution and application methods of work-study positions in the school, and pointed out that the leaders of the class should play the role of a bridge between students and teachers by paying attention to the emotional state of the students, and promptly contacting the counselors for guidance.
Li Wanyu, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, made specific arrangements for Youth League activities such as "learning from the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China", "Welcoming the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and making dreams come true-telling the youth story to the Party", "promoting the great anti-epidemic spirit and practicing the patriotic health movement", and "strong diligence and frugality to resist catering waste". She encouraged all League branches to unite and lead the backbone of the branch, combine the interests and needs of young people, and carry out various education and organization building activities of rich content and diverse forms. These would build grassroots league organizations into a warm harbor for young people to depend on when they encounter difficulties.
Fu Chengyu, Director of the Career Development Office, and Shi Moran, Deputy Director of the Career Development Office, introduced the main work of the Career Development Office to the backbone of the classes and League branches, and hoped that the backbone of the class would enhance the link between students and teachers, and assist the Career Development Office to promptly provide employment information to students in need.
Assistant Dean of Law School and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Shi Shi, expressed gratitude to students who undertook the work of the Youth League branches and classes in the previous academic year on behalf of Law School. He pointed out that class and League branch work means responsibilities and dedication. The leading students should strengthen their mission, be a good leader, embed the theme of educational activities according to the students' sense of gain, actively expand the content and forms of innovative activities, strengthen the emotional connection between students, and effectively enhance the cohesion of the class.
This conference provided useful guidance for the development of the Youth League branch and class work of the Law School, and provided a platform for the exchange of League branch and class construction experience, laying an important foundation for the smooth development of the work of Law School students in the new semester and in-depth service to the youth.
