Since October 2020, in conjunction with the “Promoting the Great Anti-epidemic Spirit and Practicing the Patriotic Health Movement”-the theme of the Student Party and Youth League Day and the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Party, the Party Committee of the Law School organized student Party branches to carry out learning activities with the theme of Xi Jinping Statement on Construction of China (Volume 3). “Adhere to the people as the center” is an important topic of Xi Jinping Statement on Construction of China (Volume 3), and it also expresses our Party's political stand, ideas and people's feelings. In order to deeply understand the Party’s original intention and mission, and to guide student Party members to practice the party’s fine style and spiritual traditions, all student Party branches, under the premise of meeting the requirements for normalized epidemic prevention and control, through collective learning, knowledge self-assessment, sharing and exchanges, in-depth study the theoretical essence and spiritual connotation. In the course of the topic study, each branch insisted on basing itself on reality and innovating forms, combining the Party’s basic theory with professional actual needs, and firmly establishing and practicing the value pursuit of people supremacy in practice, communication and interaction.

 

 

Learning by Combining History

Based on the history of the Party, the history of new China, the history of the Reform and Opening up, and the history of the socialist development, the student Party branches of Law School have studied the historical process of the Communist Party of China relies closely on the people and leads the people to achieve revolution from the period of the new democratic revolution to the period of socialist construction.

 

 

 Learning through the Innovative Forms

In order to ensure the effectiveness of theoretical learning, the student Party branches of Law School take various forms to integrate learning into stories, activities, exchanges, and practice. The Party branch of Class 3, 2019 Master of Jurisprudence (for students without an LLB degree), has been learning by watching videos, knowledge self-test and other forms. Under the normalization of the epidemic situation, the Party branch of Class 4, 2019 Master of Jurisprudence (for students without an LLB degree) closely follows the frontiers of the Party Central Committee’s theory and launches online learning activities. Everyone shared and communicated on line on what they have done and felt during the epidemic.

 

 

Learning by Integrating Theory with Practice

The students of the second Party branch of the 2020 Master of Jurisprudence (for students with an LLB degree) shared and exchanged the dedication and sense of responsibility of the young Party members who have the courage to rush forward and stand on the front line during the epidemic. They apply practical actions to fulfill the original intention and mission. The members of the second Party branch of the 2019 Master of Laws expressed their willingness to closely combine what they have learned with their responsibilities.

 

 

Learning for the New Era

The first Party branch of the 2019 Master of Laws invited Comrade Liu Ji, a member of Peking University's 19th Postgraduate Teaching Team, and Comrade Li Xin, a member of the 20th Postgraduate Teaching Team, to share their teaching experience. The 2020 doctoral Party branch members focused on the keyword "globalization", combined with General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statement that “China's opening door will not be closed, but will only open wider” to conduct in-depth discussions, clarify youth responsibilities, and establish the Four Confidence.

 

 

The study of the theme Xi Jinping Statement on Construction of China (Volume 3) mobilized the enthusiasm of student Party members of various categories, and laid the ideological foundation for a series of activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party. The students stayed close to the forefront of the Party’s theory, and transformed their theoretical learning experience into motivation for study and work.
