Faithful belief, upholding justice, selfless dedication! —— In memory of our alumnus and national model judge Hu Guoyun

Hu Guoyun, a 1983-grade undergraduate alumnus of our college, suffered a sudden illness at work on May 6, 2020 and died in the line of duty. He was recently posthumously awarded the title of "National Model Judge".
Alumni Hu Guoyun studied in the Law Department of Peking University from 1983 to 1987. After graduating from his bachelor's degree, he worked in the Jiangxi Higher People’s Court and successively served as the head of the first civil trial division, member of the adjudication committee, and a second-level senior judge of the Jiangxi Higher People’s Court. He is a recognized expert in civil and commercial trials and is known as the "walking legal encyclopedia." During his tenure, he put himself in people’s shoes, and a party to the case involved sent a pennant to praise his spirit of "enforcement for the people and caring for the people". He is not afraid of threats and upholds justice, saying "I would rather offend people than offend the law!". 33 years of judicial career, 25 years of sticking to the front line, he handled more than 1,000 cases, impartially and uprightly, without any wrong case.
On the night of May 6, 2020, Hu Guoyun, wearing a robe, fell beside the opened case file. After his death, the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission issued a notice calling on all political and legal organs and all political and legal cadres to earnestly study and publicize the advanced deeds and lofty spirit of comrade Hu Guoyun. He was posthumously awarded the title of “National Model Judge” and “oOutstanding Communist Party mMember of Jiangxi Province” . His deeds received wide attention and were reported by the People’s Daily,Xinhua News Agency, CCTV news and dozens of other news media.
