Work News:

2020 is a crucial year for Peking University to fully roll out its ideological and political practice courses. The ideological and political practice working group of Law School, with the theme of "Shouldering the Responsibility of the Times, Blooming the Brilliance of Youth", formulated a specific implementation plan for Law School to carry out the teaching practice of this course in accordance with the relevant requirements of Peking University. This year, a total of 179 students from Law School participated in the ideological and political practice courses. At present, 7 online teams have started courses, and the practice courses for 4 offline teams will be officially launched in August. In order to clarify the course requirements of this year's ideological and political practice to the class-selecting students, explain the safety precautions in detail, and ensure the smooth progress of subsequent courses, the 7 online teams have held online teacher-student meetings recently.

 

 

The teacher-student meeting of the seven online ideological and political practice groups of Law School and the safety education training meeting were successfully held

 

On July 20th, the 1st group successfully held an online teacher-student meeting. First of all, Yu Qi , the professor in charge of the course, organized the students to introduce themselves one by one at the meeting to get acquainted with each other and unite their souls. Then he led everyone to discuss the practical topics of the course and understand each student's research direction and interest. At the same time, in order to mobilize the sense of participation and enthusiasm of each team member, Professor Yu Qi suggested that the Group establish a publicity mechanism, and be divided into 5 teams, each team taking turns to collect the course materials and publicity materials at the end of each practical activity. At the end of the meeting, it was emphasized that students must pay attention to safety when carrying out ideological and political practice activities, not only to public health safety in their respective areas, but also to the network safety.

 

 

On the evening of July 28th, the online teacher-student meeting of the 4th group was held on Tencent Conference Platform. Lead teachers Jiang Su, Fu Chengyu, assistant teacher Liu Qi and all the students attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Haozhan, and recorded by Hong Xubing.

First, all the students gave a brief self-introduction in turn. The long-awaited classmates shared the situation of home study during the epidemic, and their learning experience in the past year after entering Peking University Law School, and talked about their understanding of the ideological and political practice courses. The students all expressed that they are looking forward to group learning in such a brand new way. Although the conditions have changed during the epidemic, they should still devote themselves to the course study and strive to obtain satisfactory results. The students also expressed that they are looking forward to seeing each other Yanyuan in the near future.

Lead teacher Professor Jiang Su instructed social survey and social practice report writing methods. He pointed out that social practice mainly includes questionnaire survey method, literature survey method, field observation method, interview survey method, group interview method, spot survey method and other different methods. These methods should be adopted according to the needs. Especially during the epidemic, spot surveys may be inconvenient, so we must pay attention to the accurate application of several other methods. Jiang Su also recommended some professional books on social surveys. He pointed out that, strictly speaking, social practice reports do not have a fixed format or writing method, but they generally have a certain basic structure, mainly including: title, purpose, main content (including the methods used and research findings), experience summary (talking about feelings and harvest), references, etc.

On the evening of July 29th, the 7th group team teacher-student meeting and safety education training meeting was successfully held. The team teacher, Shi Shi, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Law School, and Shi Moran, the assistant teacher and Vice Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Law School, attended the meeting with 16 members of the team. The meeting was chaired by Shi Moran.

Shi shi conducted online safety education and training for team students. Shi shi reminded students to maintain a mindset of not being afraid, despising, paralyzed, or careless when the prevention and control of the epidemic has become normalized, pay close attention to the situation of the local epidemic situation, actively and continuously take personal protection, and he reiterate to the students about the prevention policy. Shi shi combined the actual situation of online ideological and political practice and related cases, and instructed students to pay attention to personal safety when participating in courses online, and guided students to pay more attention to network security, especially protecting personal privacy and guarding against network fraud during the course.

 

 

On July 30, the 5th group successfully held an online teacher-student meeting and a safety education training meeting under the organization of the leading teacher Professor Dai Xin and teaching assistant Wang Xu. Professor Dai Xin first explained his understanding of the ideological and political practice courses, emphasized the importance of practice in university education, and expressed the expectation of learning and making progress together with team members in the practice courses. After that, the 15 members of the team introduced themselves in turn, which improved their understanding of each other.

 

 

On the evening of July 30, the 2nd group held an online teacher-student meeting. Instructor Nian Yijia and assistant Shi Jianan attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Nian Yijia, the tutor of the ideological and political practice course and the class teacher of the 2019 undergraduate class of Law School, delivered a speech. She briefly introduced the progress of her recent enrollment work to the students, reiterated the importance of safety and epidemic prevention and control, and expressed her high expectations for this summer online ideological and political practice.

Finally, all members of the Group started a collective discussion. All members made speeches one after another, introduced their vacation experiences, put forward their own suggestions on practical topics, online seminars and docking units, and expressed their thoughts and expectations for this online practical course. The tutor and teaching assistant spoke highly of everyone's thoughts and perceptions, and hoped that everyone will unite and work together to help the group practical course achieve a complete success.

 

 

On the morning of July 31, the 3rd group held an online teacher-student meeting and a safety education training meeting. The meeting started with the self-introduction of course assistant Hao Wanshuang. A total of 16 team members gave a lively self-introduction in sequence. After that, Hao Wanshuang further introduced the ideological and political practice course arrangement. The lead teacher Li Wanyu said that because of the epidemic, everyone was unable to meet again in Yanyuan as scheduled. Although deeply regretted, it was precisely because of the epidemic that everyone experienced a more impressive ideological and political practice. She encouraged the students to seriously participate in the online ideological and political practice courses with an open, tolerant and pragmatic attitude. Li Wanyu's sincere speech touched the heartstrings of students far away in the motherland.

 

 

On the evening of July 31, the teacher-student meeting of the 6th group were held online. Lead teacher Wang Yang attended the meeting, and the meeting was hosted by the course assistant Liu Shuichang.

First of all, Liu Shuichang gave an overall introduction to this ideological and political practice class, clarified the purpose of the course, planned the practical arrangement, and emphasized the discipline of the course. He also pointed out that this ideological and political practice class is not an activity but a course. It is necessary to adhere to theory-based, targeted in-depth thinking and conduct investigation and study based on theory and reality.

At the end of the meeting, the lead teacher Wang Yang made a concluding speech. He emphasized that even if the ideological and political practice courses are conducted online, we must highlight practicality. It is still necessary to follow the tradition of ideological and political courses to do a good job in order to advance the progress of the practice in an orderly manner to ensure that each student can learn and receive from what you have learned, truly learn to see the essence through the phenomenon, and improve ability to analyze, think, and solve problems.

 

 

According to the size of the students who selected courses this year, Law School determined 13 units as candidates for this year's online ideological and political practice courses. The leading teachers and course assistants of each group introduced the base construction of the 13 units and the recommended research direction of each base. The students gave speeches one after another. After the discussion, they all confirmed the ideological and political practice theme of the group and the intention unit of the "online symposium" by means of democratic voting.

In addition, according to the overall deployment and arrangement of the Youth League Committee of Peking University, each group also used the opportunity of online meetings between teachers and students to form Temporary Youth League Branches. The election of the Temporary Youth League Branches adopt democratic centralism. On the basis of widely soliciting the opinions of classmates, the members of the Temporary Youth League Branches were determined through democratic voting, and the democratic division of labor was carried out to clarify the preliminary work plan. The members of the Temporary Youth League Branches expressed their willingness to do their utmost to assist teachers and students to jointly run the online ideological and political practice courses.
