In the Morning, September 10, 2019 U.S. Jones Day Law Firm’s “Peking University Day” event was successfully held in Lecturer Hall, Koguan Building, PKULS. The event was participated by Ms. Tang Chenghui, Partner of Beijing Office of Jones Day Law Firm, Mr. Lv Kangyi, Partner, Mr. Xue Qiang, Senior Consultant, Ms. Jiang Fan, Executive Director, Prof. Guo Li, Party Secretary of PKULS, Prof. Wang Xixin, Executive Dean, Institute of Rule of Law and Development, Peking University, Li Yuanyuan, Assistant Dean of Peking University Law School and Director of External Affairs Office, while teachers from various brothers colleges attended the event.

 

Secretary Guo li first gave a welcome speech. He recalled the deep relationship between Jones Day Law Firm and Peking University Law School. He said that as a top international law firm, Jones Day Law Firm has long been concerned about the development of law education. In the past few years, Jones Day has established several important projects at Peking University Law School, promoted the international development of Peking University Law School. In 2018, Jones Day opened its cross-border lawyer practice course for the first time at Peking University Law School. It was highly praised by our teachers and students. This year, the course is open to outstanding students of the five law schools in Beijing, such as Tsinghua University and Renmin University. He hopes that the students will cherish such a rare learning opportunity and wish the event a complete success.

Prof. Wang Xixin thanked Jones Day for its enthusiasm for the globalization of the rule of law and encouraged the students who participated in this course to cherish the opportunity and learn something useful.

After that, Mr. Lv Kangyi, a partner of Jones Day Beijing Office, delivered a keynote speech. In the speech, Mr. Lu Kangyi described how the law school students successfully completed the important role change from campus to workplace.

 

Finally, Mr. Xue Qiang, a senior consultant of Jones Day’s Anti-monopoly business, reviewed his mental journey in the past ten years of anti-monopoly business. He admits that in the future, lawyers who are interested in the anti-monopoly field should consciously cultivate their own macro perspectives on issues, and at the same time have to be involved in the field of economics.
