LLM Students Visit the Supreme People's Court

On June 4, 2026, Professor Zhao Gaoya led students from the Law School's LL.M. Program in Chinese Law on a visit to the Supreme People's Court. The group, comprising students from over ten countries and regions including Turkey, Chile, Indonesia, Australia, the United States, and Germany, toured the court's premises and First Courtroom, attended a briefing on China's judicial system, its history, organizational structure, and ongoing reforms, and engaged in an open Q&A session covering topics including judicial oversight, judicial selection, and the application of AI in court proceedings. The visit concluded at the People's Court Press, where students explored China's legal culture and witnessed live demonstrations of the Faxin legal AI platform.

The visit offered students a firsthand understanding of China's judicial institutions in action, connecting classroom learning with real-world legal practice and deepening their appreciation of China's evolving rule of law.
