On the afternoon of November 28, 2025, Dr. Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary-General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), delivered an academic lecture entitled “The HCCH and its Ongoing Work, with a Focus on Transnational Litigation”. The lecture was hosted by Professor He Qisheng, Boya Distinguished Professor of Peking University Law School. Commentators included Professor Wu Yong, Executive Dean of the School of Law, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor Cao Zhixun, Tenured Associate Professor of Peking University Law School; and Zhao Yun, Representative of the HCCH Asia-Pacific Regional Office.

Hamish Stewart: The Reform of Evidence Law in Canada

On the morning of November 21, Professor Hamish Stewart from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto (Canada), served as the guest speaker for Peking University Law School's Global & Comparative Law Lecture Series and delivered a lecture entitled “Reform of Evidence Law in Canada”. WANG Wenyu: Deficiencies and Improvements of Valuation Adjustment Mechanisms (VAM): From the Perspective of Law and Economics
On the afternoon of October 29, 2025, Professor Wang Wenyu—Adjunct Professor of the College of Law, Taiwan University, and Dean of the College of Law, Kainan University—delivered an academic lecture at Peking University Law School entitled”Deficiencies and Improvements of Valuation Adjustment Mechanisms (VAM): From the Perspective of Law and Economics”. The lecture was hosted by Dai Xin, Vice Dean and Tenured Associate Professor of Peking University Law School, with Lou Jianbo, Professor of Peking University Law School; He Jian, Tenured Associate Professor; and Zou Xingguang, Assistant Professor, serving as commentators. Attracting a large number of faculty, students, and researchers from both on and off campus, the lecture featured enthusiastic on-site discussions and received a positive response.

On the morning of September 30, Professor Stefan Korioth from the University of Munich Law School delivered a systematic lecture titled”Constitutional Limitations on Public Debt ('Debt Brake') — A Sound Strategy to Curb Excessive Government Borrowing?”as the keynote speaker for the Global & Comparative Law Lecture Series at Peking University Law School. The lecture was hosted by Professor Zhang Xiang, a tenured professor at Peking University Law School, and attended by discussants including Associate Professor Zuo Yilu (tenured associate professor at Peking University Law School), Researcher Liu Zhixin from the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Assistant Professor Wu Xunxiang from Peking University Law School, Assistant Professor Tian Wei from Renmin University of China Law School, and Lecturer Wu Liangjian from China University of Political Science and Law.
