Launched in 2018, PKU LAW International Week has become a flagship event, annually showcasing the law school’s extensive opportunities for students pursuing international academic and professional careers. The 2025 edition, with the theme of “Being an Architect of the Rule of Law Connecting the World”, featured a series of well-attended events where students engaged with academics, young professionals, and peers to collaboratively explore the opportunities and challenges facing today’s global lawyers.

Lawyers in the Practice of Cross-Border Dispute Resolution


On the evening of November 3, 2025, Lin Yanhua, Partner of Fangda Partners, Liu Xiao, Quinn Emanuel’s Chair of China Practice and Chief Representative of the Beijing Office, and Shi Lei, Managing Partner of Clifford Chance’s Beijing and Shanghai Offices, delivered a lecture at Peking University Law School on the theme of “Chinese Lawyers and Foreign Lawyers in the Practice of Cross-Border Dispute Resolution”. The lecture was hosted by Dai Xin, Vice Dean and Tenured Associate Professor of Peking University Law School.

International Academic Workshop: The Institutional Impact of Technological Evolution




On November 6, 2025, the “International Academic Workshop: The Institutional Impact of Technological Evolution” was successfully held at Peking University. Distinguished scholars from home and abroad delivered presentations on their latest research and engaged in mutual discussions. Emanuel Towfigh, Professor of Law and Economics at EBS Business School (Germany), presented “Rethinking Equality: From Legal Intuition to Empirical Verification”. Elisabeth Paar, Lecturer at the University of Graz (Austria), shared insights on “AI and Academic Freedom”. Gilad Abiri, Associate Professor of Law at Peking University School of Transnational Law, discussed “Mutually Assured Deregulation”; and Michael Veale, Professor of Technology Law and Policy in the Faculty of Laws at University College London (UK), addressed “Some Commonly-Held but Shaky Assumptions about Data, Privacy and Power”. The workshop was hosted by Dai Xin, Vice Dean and Tenured Associate Professor of Peking University Law School, and attracted over 50 teachers and students from inside and outside the university, generating enthusiastic responses.
