SU Yongqin, Legal dogmatics in the Age of AI

On September 19, 2024, Professor Su Yongqin from Chengchi University delivered a lecture on “The New Position of Legal Dogmatics in the Age of AI,” exploring the evolution of jurisprudence in Germany as a product of nation-state building. He examined the shift from theoretical to more practical jurisprudence in response to EU law and discussed how AI technology could reshape the future of legal theory, urging scholars to focus more on theoretical jurisprudence. Regarding China, Professor Su highlighted the importance of understanding the historical and policy-driven development of its jurisprudence, suggesting that AI may prompt a rethinking of traditional methods and foster a new paradigm of "law as the foundation, social sciences as the application."
