This semester, Professor Jane K. Winn, Professor of University Washington and PKU Law Global Faculty Professor delivered two lectures.
On December 11, 2024, she presented "Challenges to the American Legal Profession in the Digital Age," exploring the evolving landscape of U.S. legal practice in the face of globalization, technological innovation, and shifting business models. Contrasting the future of the American legal profession with potential opportunities in China, Professor Winn offered a thought-provoking perspective on the direction of legal services in the 21st century.
 
【Speaker Profile】
Professor Jane K. Winn specializes in comparative and commercial law, with a focus on the effects of globalization and national legal reforms. She holds degrees from Queen Mary University of London and Harvard Law School and is a member of the American Bar Association. Her key publications include “The Law of Electronic Commerce”, and “Regulatory Developments in the European Union: Structures and Frameworks, and Electronic Payment Systems: Law and Emerging Technologies”. She is currently researching the role of regulation in fostering competition and innovation in payment systems in the U.S., UK, EU, China, and India, as well as the impact of machine knowledge management systems on modern legal structures.
