Opening of 2024 PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Summer Camp
The Opening Ceremony of the 2024 PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Summer Camp commenced in August, bringing together twenty-nine exceptional students from fourteen leading Chinese universities. This intensive three-day program was a collaborative endeavor between PKU Law School and the esteemed international law firm Jones Day.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Jessie Tang, Partner at Jones Day's Hong Kong Office; Professor Dai Xin, Vice Dean and Tenured Associate Professor at PKU Law School; Wang Huawei, Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor; and Dr. Li Yuanyuan, Assistant Dean and Director of External Affairs Office.
The program delved into the concept of "foreign-related rule of law," emphasizing its critical role in international relations. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on the essential qualities and skills demanded of legal professionals in this domain, recognizing the burgeoning demand for such expertise driven by contemporary social and economic factors. Furthermore, participants collaboratively explored pathways for developing as prominent figures in the field of foreign-related law, offering valuable guidance to aspiring professionals. Finally, participants articulated their aspirations for the summer program and future courses, outlining the specific knowledge and skills they sought to acquire.
