The 2024 PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Development Program in China
Peking University Law School and Jones Day have renewed their partnership in 2024 to present the "PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Development Program in China." This program, open to law students nationwide, aims to cultivate practice-oriented legal professionals with international perspectives, specializing in foreign-related rule of law.
PKU and Jones Day’s collaboration began in 2018 with the establishment of the entirely English-taught "Cross-Border Legal Practice" course. In 2021, this course evolved into the broader "PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Development Program in China," expanding the curriculum and incorporating practical activities such as the Global Rule of Law Summer Program.
The program has become a key platform for developing China's foreign-related rule of law talent. It encompasses the "Cross-Border Legal Practice" course, "Frontiers in Global Law Seminars," and the "Global Rule of Law Summer Program," all taught in English with bilingual (Chinese and English) materials and led by Jones Day's global partners and senior lawyers.
Over the past six years, the program has trained 632 outstanding students from 35 universities, earning widespread recognition and praise. It continues to advance its mission of developing legal professionals with international perspectives and practical skills, preparing future leaders in the field.
