On October 25, 2024, the Law School hosted the Jones Day Lecture on International Legal Practice, focusing on “M&A Projects and Doing Business in the U.S.” The lecture was co-presented by Zachary Brecheisen, Partner at Jones Day’s U.S. Office; Ashley Gullett, Partner at the Columbus Office; Huang Minqi, Managing Partner for Mainland China; and Li Danran, Attorney at the Shanghai Office.

Jones Day Lectures on International Legal Practice:M&A Project and Doing Business in Germany
 
 
A comprehensive exploration of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in Germany was presented by a distinguished panel: Ansgar Rempp, Partner at Jones Day's Düsseldorf and Frankfurt Offices; Sandra-Christiane Kamper, Partner at the Frankfurt Office; and Chen Zhaoxia, Senior Counsel at the Düsseldorf Office. The lecture encompassed fundamental concepts, transaction structures, and the overarching M&A process. Furthermore, the speakers highlighted the salient differences between German and U.S. M&A practices, affording students a nuanced understanding of corporate acquisition legal systems within diverse jurisdictions.
