LL.M. Program Students Visited Ministry of Commerce of the People‘s Republic of China

On May 9th, 2014, under the guidance of Ms. Zhao Xue, LL.M. Program Students, short-term students and exchange program students visited Department of Treaty and Law of Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM).

Mr. Chen Yusong, Director of Department of Treaty and Law, and other officers from Department of Treaty and Law of MOFCOM warmly welcomed Chinese Law students and held a seminar. To begin with, Ms. Zhao gave a general introduction of LL.M. Program and its students of PKU Law. Then, officers from different divisions of Department of Treaty and Law interpreted tasks and responsibilities of their departments respectively, including outward economic cooperation, outbound and inbound investment legislation, WTO dispute settlements, international property rights protection, etc.

In the following section, Chinese Law students raised many questions on revision of Chinese foreign investment law, the negotiation of Sino-US bilateral investment treaty, the outbound investment and anti-dumping disputes between EU-Chinese. Officers from Department of Treaty and Law patiently answered these questions into details and had further discussion with the students.

After the seminar, Mr. Chen gave some books on WTO disputes settlement to the students as presents. Ms. Zhao expressed thankfulness and gave PKU Law School's souvenirs on behalf of our law school. In the end, Mr. Chen and our visiting team took group photos together.
