1. Background and purpose

Peking University Law School "moot court Training Camp" is a student-led quality training base which was established by the Communist Youth League Committee of Peking University Law School. This project plays a significant role as "professional quality training of lawyers" in "extracurricular lawyers’ training project". Besides, the project is an organization of the limited-oriented groups, aimed at cultivating the ability of competitors of Law Moot Court Competition.

The competition and training of Moot Court are an important component of legal education. In many countries, it has become an important connection between legal education and practice of legal profession. Various forms of Moot Court Competition have been successfully held by national or international community. In China, the Moot Court Competition has gradually attracted the attention on law education.

The direct purpose of forming this training camp is to create an “Elite Team” which can represent the level of the lawyer on behalf of Peking University through systematic training camp courses. The radical purpose is to exercise participants‘ legal thinking as well as enhancing their ability to deal with legal practice, thus providing a practical platform which helps the students of our academy become talented people who are adapted not only to the construction of the rule of law but also the requirements of work.

2.Events we manage:

Our training camp mainly manages three Law Moot Court Competition events: Lilv Cup, Maozhong Cup and Jessup.

Lilv Cup

"Lilv Cup" is a Chinese-language law moot court competition for national law schools. Lilv Cup‘s training camp takes responsibility for selecting students into the camp and selecting excellent campers for Lilv Cup Competitions.

Maozhong Cup

"Maozhong Cup" is an English-language international commercial arbitration moot. Maozhong Cup‘s training camp is mainly responsible for selecting outstanding undergraduates and graduates for Maozhong Cup Competition and organizes related trainings.

Jessup

"Jessup" is an English-language international professional moot court competition. Like Lilv Cup, Jessup‘s training camp is mainly responsible for selecting outstanding undergraduates and graduates for Maozhong Cup Competition and organizes related trainings.

Apart from above, our training camp also manage other moot court competitions, such as the International Red Cross Moot Court Competition, Beijing Foreign Language School‘s Cup moot court competition of intellectual property and so on.
