On March 30thMentougou district court invited Professor Zhang Qi from Peking University to give a training lecture themed “ The Application of Guiding Cases and the Legal Reasoning by Analogy”, with the purpose of promoting the judgment ability and the skill of reasoning of the police officers. The training lecture, with all the judges and judge assistants attending, was sponsored by the vice dean An Hui.

Focusing on “how to express and compare the key facts of the guiding cases”, Professor Zhang Qi introduced the significance of guiding cases and the relationship between legal reasoning by analogy and people’s initiative. In response to the puzzle put up by police officers, he also resorted to a true case in order to analyze the legal reasoning by analogy. The training lecture ended up as a case-analysis class filled with rich knowledge, practical guidance and vividness.

The training lecture completely met the needs of the police officers and lasted for three hours. Judges and their assistants all payed close attention, took down detailed notes and energetically interacted with Professor Zhang Qi. They also believed that the training lecture was quite conducive to their jobs and they obtained better skills that could be employed in the future cases.
