General Counsel of JP Morgan China gave a speech to LLM students

On April 14th, 2014, Ms. Christine Yixin Chen, JP Morgan's China general counsel, was invited to give a lecture to students of LLM program. She discussed the challenges that foreign financial institutions are facing and shared her experience as an in-house counsel.

During the nearly two-hour discussion, Ms. Chen analyzed the unique challenges for US financial institutions operating in China, including the issues arising from the different financial regulatory and legal regimes as well as different regulatory approaches in China and the US. Ms. Chen also provided her perspectives on potential legal risks for foreign financial institutions' local operations. Ms. Chen then shared her experience in working at a law firm and working as an in-house counsel.

At the end of the speech, Ms. Chen answered questions from the LLM students and gave her comments on career planning. These recommendations received warm appreciation from the LLM students.
