Urumqi Intermediate People's Court - Peking University Law School "Two-way Cooperation and Exchange" Signing Ceremony Successfully Held

On the afternoon of October 11, 2018, the signing ceremony of the “Two-way Cooperation and Exchange” of the Intermediate People's Court of Urumqi-Peking University Law School was officially held in Room 307,(Leo) Koguan Building,. Zhang Wei, Party Secretary and Vice President of the Intermediate People's Court of Urumqi, Party Group Member, Director of the Political Department Xiong Qiuying, Wu Hua, full-time member of the Judicial Committee, and Pan Jianfeng, dean of Peking University Law School, Li Ming, deputy director of the School Committee, and Lu Jiangnan, deputy secretary of the School of Law, attended the signing ceremony. The relevant staff of both parties participated in the event.

 

 

First of all, Pan Jianfeng, dean of the Peking University Law School and secretary of the party committee, delivered a speech. President Pan warmly welcomed the visit of the Urumqi Intermediate People's Court and introduced the development of the law school. Peking University Law School's performance results are second to none among domestic peers. In recent years, the international authority rankings, Peking University Law School ranked the top 20 in the world, ranking first in mainland China and top three in Asia. Dean Pan said that Peking University Law School will continue to support the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides, export the latest legal research results to Xinjiang, and continuously promote the development of legal practice in the western region.

 

 

Secondly, Zhang Wei, secretary of the party group and vice president of the Intermediate People's Court of Urumqi, delivered a speech. Zhang Shuji introduced the current situation of economic and social development in Xinjiang and the general situation of the work of the Intermediate People's Court. He also looked forward to issues such as research, training exchanges and mutual exchange of talents with the law school in the future.

 

 

Subsequently, Li Ming, deputy director of the school board, delivered a speech. Professor Li Ming served as the vice president of Shihezi University in Xinjiang, and during the period of aiding Xinjiang, he promoted the cooperation between Peking University Law School and Urumqi City Intermediate People's Court. He pointed out that the cooperation has achieved good results and basically achieved the expected goals. The two sides should continue to strengthen cooperation and mutual benefit. Afterwards, the participants of the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the content of the cooperation and exchanged discussions on the implementation of the agreement.

 

 

At the end of the ceremony, Dean Pan Jianfeng and Secretary Zhang Jian signed a two-way exchange and cooperation agreement on behalf of Peking University Law School and Urumqi Intermediate People's Court, and took a group photo.

The signing of a two-way exchange and cooperation agreement with the Urumqi Intermediate People's Court and in-depth cooperation in the training of judges and personnel exchanges will help further promote exchanges and interactions between the academic and practical circles, and enhance legal exchanges and talent exchanges between the central and western regions.
