On the afternoon of April 27, 2018, 2018 Scholarship Award Ceremony of Peking University Law School and Hu Yuanxiang International Exchange Fund for Law Foundation Ceremony were successfully held in Room B102, (Leo) Koguan Building. More than 20 guests who established the scholarship, Dean Zhang Shouwen, Deputy Dean Guo Li, Vice Party Secretary Lu Jiangnan, Prof. Shao Jingchun, Director of Career Development Office Hou Le, Vice Director of Student Affairs Office Zhu Yuqi, and all the award-winning students attended the ceremony. The event was hosted by Lu Jiangnan and Hou Le.

 

 

Firstly, Dean Zhang Shouwen made a speech. On behalf of the college, he extended a warm welcome to the guests and expressed his sincere gratitude to the guests. He said that the generous support and assistance of all the guests is an important driving force for the development of the education of PKULS.

Afterwards, Deputy Dean Guo Li introduced the background of Hu Yuanxiang International Exchange for Law. Prof. Guo Li introduced the establishment process of Hu Yuanxiang International Exchange Fund forLaw. He expressed his sincere gratitude to Hu Yuanxiang and Dong Jianshuang.

Afterwards, Mr. Hu delivered a speech. He shared his own experiences in studying and working. He encouraged the students to carry out research in areas such as law and science and technology development, financial innovation, and green economy.

Later, Guests awarded certificates for winning students. A total of 15 individual scholarships were awarded. Three winning student representatives expressed their sincere gratitude to the guests and expressed that they will continue to improve themselves in the future.

Afterwards, each of the guests gave a speech. The guests expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive quality of the winning students and sincerely congratulated them on their achievements in academics, practice, public welfare, etc. They hope that the students will be able to further their progress and focus on personal ethics, solid theoretical knowledge and make their own contributions to the legal construction of the motherland and the development of the legal cause.

In the previous academic year, Peking University Law School had a total of 65 scholarships which was more than 4.5 million in total, and rewarded more than 480 students. The scale and quality of scholarships have continued to make new developments and presented a diversified student motivation and evaluation system, which helps to encourage students to comprehensively improve their overall quality.

This scholarship award ceremony has provided a platform for exchanges and cooperation between PKULS and all walks of society. It reflects the community's concern and support for the development of PKULS and personnel training. Through the exchanges with the guests, the students improved their understanding of the legal profession and legal practice, and strengthened their determination to embrace the ideals of law. PKULS will continue to expand resources, innovate scholarship systems and provide students with a broader platform for their growth.
