Peking University Team Won the First Prize in 2018 International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition
From March 17 to March 18, 2018, the China Division Selection of 2018 International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition was held in China University of Political Science and Law. The Peking University team won the first prize in this competition.
The team consisted of Fan Xiaolu, Li Ang, from 2014 undergraduate, and Du Zhonghua, Su Shirui, Wang Xinyu, from the 2016 undergraduates. Leader teacher was Prof. Joseph. Li Ang served as captain. Fan Xiaolu, Du Zhonghua, Su Shirui severed as players in the game. The team was guided by Prof. Joseph and other teachers. This team also received supports from previous players. In the tense three-day schedule, the team of our school passed all the way and won the first prize. Fan Xiaolu won the best agent.
Since the formation of the team in September 2017, under the care of law school leaders and teachers, under the guidance of coaches and the enthusiastic support of graduated former players, all team members have fully devoted themselves into the preparation and read a large number of professional works and classic cases. They conducted meticulous research and intense discussions, wrote and modified the book repeatedly. They also conducted strict training during the winter vacation and before the match. In the arena, our school team members not only demonstrated a high level of international law and an accurate understanding of international hot issues, but also demonstrated excellent English skills, outstanding courtroom skills, and unique personal style. They won the unanimous appreciation of the judges.
The International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition is an international moot court competition organized by the Grotius International Law Research Center. The content and form of the competition highly simulate the real case of the International Criminal Court. The Peking University team won the championship of China in 2017. This showed the excellent teaching and researching ability, talent cultivation ability and first-class internationalization level of Peking University Law School.
