Peking University Law School Scholars Group went to Hong Kong to participate in the 2019 “Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Annual Conference”

On the morning of November 7, a group of nine scholars led by Prof. Pan Jianfeng, Dean of Peking University Law School, went to Hong Kong to participate in the annual “Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Annual Conference”. The members of the group included the former Vice President of Peking University, Prof. Wu Zhipan, the former Dean of the School of Law, Prof. Zhu Suli, Prof. Zhang Shouwen, the current Dean, Prof. Pan Jianfeng, Prof. Chen Duanhong, Prof. Jiang Shigong, Associate Prof. Zhang Yongle, Assistant Prof. Yu Qi and Assistant Prof. Zuo Yilu.

 

From November 8th to 9th, legal scholars from the two universities gathered at the University of Hong Kong to jointly hold the “Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Annual Conference” in 2019. The opening ceremony was conducted through the audio-visual reviewed “Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Annual Conference”. Two former deans of two schools reviewed the decades-long academic exchanges between Peking University and the University of Hong Kong and the profound academic friendship. After that, the experts from two school hold a one-and-a-half-day academic discussion on topics including the rule of law in Hong Kong, key areas such as challenges in globalization and dispute resolution, the rule of law and economic development, and so on.

Peking University Law School has a long and deep exchange and cooperation with the Hong Kong University Law School. The two schools started the "Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Research Center" on December 9, 1998. Since 1999, the research center has organized an annual academic conference, which is in turn planned by the Peking University Law School and the Hong Kong University Law School.

 

Each year, about 30 scholars from the two universities attending the annual meeting, there are also students attending. The annual meeting not only promotes the academic exchange and cultural integration among the scholars of the two universities, but also introduces the latest research trends and achievements of the two schools for the students.

 

"Peking University-Hong Kong University Law Annual Conference" enhances the friendship and interaction between Peking University and Hong Kong University, and establishes a platform for regular exchanges between the two schools' law research, which is of great significance for promoting the progress of legal research.
