On March 28, 2014, under the guidance of teacher Zhao Xue from the Law School of Peking University, the students of LL.M. Program, Short-term Program and Exchange Programs visited the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.China. Ms. Shao, Ms. Zhao and other staff from SIPO warmly welcomed us.
First, the students watched an introductory video of SIPO in the conference hall, which gave them a basic understanding of the history, organizational structure and main responsibilities of SIPO. Following that, the students actively communicated with Ms. Zhao and her fellows about their interested questions.
Later, the students visited SIPO Patent Documentation Library and Intellectual Property Exhibition Hall. Staff members of the SIPO provided detailed explanation on relevant content and answered the students' questions thoroughly and patiently. Through the visit, the students have a further understanding of the establishment and development of our intellectual property system, especially the patent system. Besides, the students visited the receiving hall of the Patent Office, which provided them with an opportunity to get access to the process of patent application more directly.
Everybody joined together for a group picture afterwards, and the fieldwork ended in a satisfactory way. The productive trip vividly showed the development history and actual operation process of Chinese legal system of intellectual property right, gave them further access to Chinese Intellectual Property Law, and stimulated their interest in learning Chinese Intellectual Property Law.
