law and policy Joint Research Center between Peking University and Yale
Peking University and Yale established a series of Joint Researches for important areas of concern in 2006. Among them, Peking University Law School and The China Law Center, Yale University established law and policy Joint Research Center between Peking University and Yale. The China Law Center, Yale University ,established in 1999, is responsible for teaching and research, and promote the academic exchange with Chinese legal field. One of the major tasks is to deepen understanding of reform process of Chinese law and policy.
Currently, the director of the law and policy Joint Research Center between Peking University and Yale is professor zixin wang on behalf of Peking University. The core objectives of the center are as follows. First ,build a platform for law and policy Joint Research between Peking University and Yale and integrate resources. Second, work on joint study for major issues of reform of Chinese law and policy and play the role of a think tank. Third, introduce the experiences of the reform of Chinese law and policy, presenting the research results. Since the center was established, lots of collaborative research including the reform of food safety policies, the system improvement for land expropriation, public participation system, opening Government information and so on. The center has introduced the experiences about the research results and the experiences of reform to the academia and politics in America and it has had great influence.
