Born in the city of Puyang in Henan in1945, Li Junqing graduated from Law School of Peking University and worked in Peking University afterwards for 8 years before heading to the Ministry of Personnel. In his career, he has served as a chief of the Labor & Personnel Department Secretariat and deputy director of the integrated office of Policy and Regulation Department. And he was the director of Senior Civil Servant training center of Personnel Department in 1995. In July 2000, he was appointed as vice president and deputy secretary of party committee of the newly founded China Galaxy Securities Company Ltd.
The Galaxy Securities Company Ltd. is the largest company in securities market in China, as well as the only State-owned securities company lead directly by the central government.
